Terms of Service

MatchTally provides software to run recreational sports leagues, including scheduling, live scoring, ladders, brackets, club rankings, public league pages, embeddable widgets, notifications, and optional payment tools. We provide the tools. We do not organise, run, referee, or take responsibility for your league, its games, its members, or any disputes between them.

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

• Keep your login details secure and do not share them.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account.

If you set up or manage a league, you are the organiser. You are responsible for the information you add, including team names, player names, email addresses, fixtures, and results, and for making sure you are allowed to add it.

• You must have the right and any necessary consent to enter other people's personal information, including before adding email addresses used for notifications.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of scores, ladders, schedules, and other league data you publish.
• You are responsible for your league's operation, your members' conduct, any registration fees, and any disputes.

MatchTally is not a party to your league or to any arrangement between you and your members.

When using the Service you must not:

• break any law, or infringe anyone's rights;
• upload content that is unlawful, misleading, harmful, or that you do not have the right to use;
• use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm anyone;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
• scrape or collect data from the Service except through features or the API we provide for that purpose.

You keep ownership of the content you add. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, and display that content as needed to operate and provide the Service, including showing public league pages and widgets. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to it.

League pages, ladders, schedules, results, and team and club names are public by design and may be visible to anyone and indexed by search engines. Do not publish confidential or sensitive information through these features.

MatchTally offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.

• You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
• Fees are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law.
• We may change plan features and prices. We will give reasonable notice of price changes, which take effect at your next renewal.
• You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.

If you use MatchTally to collect payments from your own members, those payments are between you and them and are processed by Stripe. We are not the seller or a party to that transaction, and we are not responsible for it.

The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe for payments, Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting and analytics, Resend for email, Anthropic for the AI assistant, and PostHog for product analytics. Your use may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

Where enabled, MatchTally can email reminders and results to league members. Organisers control whether notifications are on and must only add contacts they are permitted to contact. Recipients can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.

The MatchTally name, logo, software, and the content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms do not give you any right to use our branding without our written permission.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time. We try to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may carry out maintenance or updates.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be accurate or preserved.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from or connected to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims connected to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD 100 if you paid us nothing.

Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and we are permitted to limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your league or its members, or your breach of these terms or of any law.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, and we may delete your content after a reasonable period.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
